The Ehlers-Danlos Society Global Learning Conference, Scottsdale, Arizona, Postponed until August 5-7, 2021
The Ehlers-Danlos Society regrets to announce that we have taken the decision to postpone our Global Learning Conference and HEDGE study screening, due to take place on July 9-11, 2020, in Scottsdale, Arizona. The wellbeing of our participants and our community is our top priority, and due to the current global situation with COVID-19 [Coronavirus] we are unable to run this event as scheduled.
The conference will now take place on August 5-7, 2021.This will be the first time we have not had an in-person Global Learning Conference, and we will look to see if we can run more virtual options to still bring our community together at this time. Please continue to check our website here, and social media platforms, for updates on having parts of this conference online.
We have rescheduled the conference for August, 2021. August 5-7, 2021, will be our Community Days for those living with EDS and HSD, and their family and friends. August 6, 2021, will be our Health Professionals Day which will run in parallel for health professionals only.
At this time we do not know if a HEDGE screening will run during the conference in 2021 as it is hoped enrolment will be complete by this time, however this is impossible to say currently with the COVID-19 crisis. We will continue to update the community on further opportunities to take part. All registrations will be automatically carried over to the new 2021 conference dates unless a refund is requested. Full event information, any virtual event announcements, FAQs, and contact information can be found below.

In 1974, occupational therapist Cynthia Garris was forced to take a new look at splint therapy – in that year, she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. While plastic splints were adequate for treating short-term trauma, they were not an ideal solution for lifetime wear. In 1985, she set out to design and manufacture a new series of splints that were both more effective and more attractive than the splints then in use. In the process, she revolutionized splint therapy.
Wearing SilverRing™ Splints removes the stigma of splinting and increases patient compliance. Patients experience positive reactions from others which improves their perspective on treatment.
Whether they need finger stability for hand-intensive work or for everyday tasks like cooking and holding a pencil, thousands of people have made SilverRing™ Splints a valued part of their everyday lives. SilverRing™ Splints encourage complete patient well-being, medically effective hand therapy and a positive self-image.
