An Invitation to Submit Your Work for Presentation at The Ehlers-Danlos Society Global Learning Conference, July 9-11, 2020, Scottsdale, Arizona
For the first time The Ehlers-Danlos Society is inviting submissions of work for poster and oral presentations at the annual Global Learning Conference, this year taking place in Scottsdale, Arizona, Thursday through Saturday, July 9-11, 2020. There will also be a one-day healthcare professionals symposium, running in parallel with other conference sessions.
We welcome submissions on any aspects that demonstrate successful or innovative ways to support and care for people with Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) or hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) and their families. This might be, for example:
- Clinical experience among health and social care professionals; or
- Formal research studies in any field of basic or clinical sciences applicable to our community; or
- Experience of working with support groups and other areas of advocacy; or
- The work of other charities and organizations in relation to related disorders.
Submissions must be in the form of an abstract (up to 500 words). The online submission form is available here.
The organizing committee of the conference will review all submissions and choose presentations. Chosen contributions will be published electronically as part of the Society’s Global Learning Conference, and contributors will be asked to display their work as a poster presentation at the conference over Friday and Saturday, July 10-11. Further information will be sent to you; you will need to print your own poster, bring it to the event, and hang it yourself.
The committee will also select posters for oral presentations to be given at sessions on July 10-11. When submitting the abstract, contributors will be able to select if they wish their work to be considered for an oral presentation. The Society is pleased to offer free registration to the whole conference if you are successful in applying to give an oral presentation.
The deadline for submissions is 11:59 pm Eastern (US/Canada) on Friday, January 31, 2020. We encourage you to submit your work, and we look forward to a vibrant and diverse program in Scottsdale. If you have questions, please get in touch here with Stacey Simmonds, the Society’s Events Director.
