Il Simposio Scientifico Internazionale sulle Sindromi di Ehlers-Danlos (EDS) e sui Disturbi dello Spettro di Ipermobilità (HSD) è un incontro all’avanguardia in cui saranno presentate e discusse nuove ricerche sui progressi clinici e sui meccanismi molecolari e patogeni alla base dell’EDS e delle sindromi correlate. L’International Consortium on EDS and HSD sta riunendo i principali esperti, clinici e scienziati nel campo di EDS e HSD per un programma scientifico di alta qualità incentrato sulla medicina traslazionale in EDS e HSD, dalla scienza di base alla comunità.

Questo evento è per gli operatori sanitari. Incoraggiamo vivamente medici e ricercatori a partecipare a questo incontro: la natura multidisciplinare della conferenza offre l’opportunità di parlare con specialisti di molti campi diversi tra cui scienziati di base, genetisti, internisti, chirurghi ortopedici e vascolari, dentisti, pediatri, fisioterapisti, consulenti genetici, infermieri e altri che lavorano con EDS e HSD.

Lipedema is a chronic medical condition characterized by a symmetric buildup of adipose tissue (fat) in the legs and arms that occurs almost exclusively in women. It is a common but underrecognized disorder. Lipedema may cause pain, swelling, and easy bruising and be accompanied by an unusual texture within the fat that can feel like rice, peas, or walnuts beneath the surface of the skin.  

At the Lipedema Foundation, we support collaborative research that addresses the basic biology, genetics, and epidemiology of lipedema with a mission to define, diagnose and develop treatments.
