About this Group
Our mission is to increase awareness of invisible illnesses, especially through our easily adaptable education program designed for high schools, colleges, and other forms of higher educations. We host the Invisibly Aware Series, which consists of two meetings a month, where each month we focus on a different group of invisible illnesses. These meetings are held on Zoom and are open to the public. One of the topics that we cover is EDS & HSD.
Meeting Schedule
The first meeting of the month we have a presentation where we talk about the symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, complications, comorbidities, and recent research. The second meeting of the month we have guest speakers who are either patients, caregivers, or medical providers for that condition.

Services
Invisible Illness Awareness Network Affiliate Program
Our affiliate program allows students to start our program at their colleges or universities . This allows students, especially future healthcare professionals to learn about invisible illnesses that are not often taught about in medical school. Our program also allows students to become leaders.
This program consists of holding two meetings every month for student members. At the first meeting of the month, student leaders share a presentation on the condition(s) being covered that month. They go over symptoms, diagnostic criteria, treatment options, comorbidities, and other pertinent information. At the second meeting of the month, they host guest speakers that are either patients, medical professionals, or caretakers who share their experiences living with the condition(s), treating the condition(s), or taking care of someone with the condition(s) being discussed that month.
Invisibly Aware Series
Our Invisibly Aware Series is an implementation of our affiliate programs, but open to everyone! This way not just students at school with affiliates can learn about these conditions, but everyone can.
