About this Group
Riksförbundet Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is a non-profit nationwide patient organization for you who have or suspect you have a diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD). We also welcome relatives, healthcare staff and other interested parties. The association was formed on 10 February 1992 on the initiative of Britta and Filip Berglund.
We have 10 regional associations in the following regions; Skåne, Kronoberg, Kalmar, Jönköping, Västernorrland, Västerbotten, Västra Götaland, Värmland, Stockholm and Uppsala as well as a number of non-profit contact persons around the country who you can contact if you have thoughts and concerns about EDS and HSD.
We work to improve care, conditions and everyday life for everyone with EDS/HSD. We do this through advocacy work nationally, in the healthcare regions, locally and through collaboration with the profession. We spread knowledge about EDS/HSD to people with the diagnosis, relatives, interested parties, the profession, politicians, schools and more.
We arrange activities in the form of webinars, member meetings with lectures, support groups, coffee gatherings and annual member camps. Our member magazine, EDS-nytt, is sent to our members and stakeholders, in paper form or digitally, 3 times a year.
