‘Completely shameful:’ woman with disability finds accessible spaces blocked at Costco
Posted March 4, 2016A Lower Sackville woman with medical disorder says it was “shameful” to see half the accessible parking spaces at a local store taken up by a cart corral.
On Friday afternoon, Nicki Himmelman was driven by a family member to the Costco in Bayers Lake, but saw the corral blocking two of the four blue accessible spaces when they pulled in.
“I was very disappointed. I thought that was completely shameful,” Himmelman said, who has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and often uses a cane or walker to help with mobility issues.
