‘Completely shameful:’ woman with disability finds accessible spaces blocked at Costco

A Lower Sackville woman with medical disorder says it was “shameful” to see half the accessible parking spaces at a local store taken up by a cart corral.

On Friday afternoon, Nicki Himmelman was driven by a family member to the Costco in Bayers Lake, but saw the corral blocking two of the four blue accessible spaces when they pulled in.

“I was very disappointed. I thought that was completely shameful,” Himmelman said, who has Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and often uses a cane or walker to help with mobility issues.
