Bailey Wemyss

About these Clinics/Practices

Hi, I’m Bailey, a dedicated disability specialist and advocate, supporting individuals with disabilities including those navigating the complexities of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. My approach is deeply person-centred, strengths-based, and guided by an intersectional lens to ensure every individual feels empowered, supported, and valued.  My two children and I all have EDS, in addition to being very neuro-divergent, and all the usual (and some unusual) medical conditions/disabilities that come with EDS, including dysautonomia etc.  One of my children and myself also use wheelchairs.

I bring extensive expertise in generalised disability practice, focusing on promoting inclusivity, equity, and empowerment for individuals and their families. I also specialise with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) *, particularly in supporting participants who self-manage their funding. I provide tailored guidance and training to help individuals confidently navigate their plans, optimise their resources, and maintain independence. Thinking outside the box is my specialty here.

In addition to this, I am a passionate advocate for disability rights. Whether it’s championing systemic change, raising awareness about invisible disabilities like Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, ensuring the built world is accessible to all, or amplifying the voices of those often unheard, my work is driven by a commitment to creating a more inclusive and equitable society.  I have extensive experience from written pieces, through to television interviews, keynotes, speeches, and helping coordinate entire conferences.

I am honoured to help people with disabilities navigate their unique journeys, focusing on their strengths and ensuring their voices are at the centre of every decision and action.
