Eric R. Wagner, M.D., M.S., completed his orthopaedic surgery residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After residency, Dr. Wagner completed a Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Following this year, he completed another fellowship at Harvards International Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at Massachusetts General (under Jon J.P. Warner M.D)., and Brigham and Womens (under Laurence D. Higgins M.D.) Hospitals in Boston, Massachusetts. As part of the international component of the Harvard fellowship, Dr. Wagner trained with world leaders in shoulder arthroplasty and arthroscopy, including Pascal Boileau in Nice, France, and in Laurent LaFosse in Annecy, France.
Dr. Wagner joined the Emory Clinic’s Orthopaedic Surgery department in 2018, where he sees patients with complex shoulder and upper extremity pathologies. His main clinical interest in the realm of shoulder surgery include complex rotator cuff pathologies, primary and revision shoulder arthroplasty, recurrent shoulder instability (E.g. Ehlers Danlos Syndrome or Hyperlaxity), scapular pathologies, and the paralytic shoulder. He has published over 180 peer-reviewed journals.
