Jacquelyn Schirmer
About these Clinics/Practices
Jacquelyn Schirmer is the Clinical Lead for EDS New Zealand and is currently setting up the first national Network of Excellence.
She is studying to become a certified lactation consultant. In 2022, Jacquelyn contributed to the ECHO Allied Health Australasia programme, speaking on Osteopathy and Hypermobility.
Since 2007, she has had a special interest in Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD)/Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), beginning with her contributions to the Hypermobility Syndromes Association (HMSA) in England. She helps run a Zebra support group in the north of New Zealand. Jacquelyn works closely with many specialists for her patients with HSD and EDS. Her practice in Mangawhai, north of Auckland, is multi-disciplinary, focusing on providing individual-specific, wrap-around healthcare in collaboration with a variety of specialists and allied health professionals.
This focus is driven by her experiences with patients who often feel misunderstood by the broader health community, motivating her continued dedication as an osteopath and running an EDS/HSD focused clinic in New Zealand.
