Julie Griffis, PT attended the University of Vermont and graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physical Therapy in 1999.  She has focused most of her professional continuing education classes on learning and implementing intentional movement practices primarily based in the Pilates Method, along with Therapeutic Yoga and more traditional exercise and sports medicine movement disciplines.  She also specializes in various manual techniques including Integrative Manual Therapy, Muscle Energy Technique, CranioSacral Therapy, and Myofascial Release.  She prefers a holistic, “whole person” approach when working with her clients and often incorporates different forms of mindfulness to strengthen the mind-body connection, and has completed additional training to become a Trauma Informed Therapist. Most recently, she completed training through the University of Vermont Osher College of Integrative Health to become an Integrative Health and Wellness Coach and now offers individual Health Navigation Coaching and Group Coaching for clients with chronic conditions.

Many years ago after being diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome herself,  she focused on learning as much as she could about Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and hypermobility spectrum disorders and their associated comorbidities such as Craniocervical Instability (CCI), POTS and MCAS.  She has completed the Ehlers-Danlos Society trainings through ECHO North America for Allied Health Professionals along with other continuing education courses and now focuses her practice on working with clients who also have connective tissue disorders.
