My outpatient-based paediatric Physiotherapist practice in Johannesburg South Africa has been open since 2009 and I love every minute of it! We work as part of a multi-disciplinary team which includes sensory integration trained occupational therapists, speech therapists, educational psychologists, dietician and homeopath.  We have an indoor heated pool at the practice which serves as a wonderful treatment option, especially for our children presenting with JHS. We work closely with a paediatric rheumatologist and have a special interest in working with children presenting with hypermobility. We service a number of schools in the greater Johannesburg area and perform regular screenings – using Beighton’s scale as part of our basic screening procedure. We have had good success in helping children and families navigate the difficulties that can come with JHS and hope to continue making this difference in many more children’s lives.
