About these Clinics/Practices

Shaun graduated from the Physiotherapy Program at the University of Western Ontario in 1997, and in 2000 completed a Masters degree at Curtin University in Perth, Australia in the area of orthopaedic physiotherapy. In 2013, he completed a post-professional Doctor of Physical Therapy diploma through the EIM Institute of Health Professions in the United States, with a focus on musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Shaun served six years on the executive board (two as president) and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists. He is an adjunct lecturer in the Physiotherapy program at the University of Toronto, teaching in the orthopaedic stream as well as the The Interfaculty Pain Curriculum.

Shaun’s practice focuses on patients with complicated musculoskeletal disorders of the spine and extremities, and his caseload includes a wide cross-section of people from the surrounding community, from athletic kids to active seniors. He is also a physiotherapy provider to the members of the Canadian Forces at Base Borden, just outside of Barrie. He continues to work with athletes of all abilities, including national and international-calibre competitors.

Shaun’s treatment approach focuses heavily on patient education and giving people the tools to help themselves. Hands-on manual therapy, specifically-tailored active exercise and acupuncture all feature prominently in his treatment approach. This broad-based approach to patient management allows him to reduce pain by re-training altered movement patterns, improving mobility and addressing the stress that comes with experiencing pain.
