Ecko was an incredible human with the capacity to feel so deeply about virtually everything and everyone she met. Ecko lived with hEDS and many of its co-occurring disorders. She was a scientist, teacher, artist, poet, herbalist and lover of all living creatures, big and small. A book of Andrea Gibson poetry, colored markers, some acorns and a bouquet of wildflowers could occupy her for hours. Ecko believed fiercely in transformative justice and worked hard to advocate for those in need. She was the perfect combination of compassionate and mischievous, always in the name of justice. Ecko lived a beautiful life with her partner, Elio and their two dog children, Berta and Coda and cat child, Bernie. She is loved by so many people whose lives she touched. Her absence is a void that cannot be filled but a reminder of how impactful a single human can be in this vast world.
