Great Britain Junior Men’s Wheelchair Basketball selection for Bishop’s Stortford High School pupil

After only 18 months in the sport, The Bishop’s Stortford High School pupil Matthew Travers has featured for the Great Britain Junior Men’s Wheelchair Basketball team.

The 18-year-old Year 13 student began playing wheelchair basketball when a joint condition called Ehlers-Danlos syndrome began to affect him and made sport and walking difficult.

It has been an incredible rise in the sport for the youngster, who made his international debut at the Fazza Tournament in Dubai in April.

And Travers, who has just returned from Ireland playing in the 2016 Invacare Challenge Cup, is excited about where his sporting career may go.
