Kara Kukfa

Kara Kukfa is Chief of Staff for Patrick J. Kennedy and The Kennedy Forum.  The Kennedy Forum is a non-profit organization whose mission is to lead a national dialogue on transforming mental health and addiction care delivery by uniting mental health advocates, business leaders, and government agencies around a common set of principles, including full implementation of the Federal Parity Law. The Forum aims to achieve health equity by advancing evidence-based practices, policies, political will, and programming in mental health and addiction treatment. Mrs. Kukfa plans and directs all administrative, financial, and operational activities.
She also sits on the Boards of The Kennedy Forum Illinois and Advocates for Opioid Recovery; and serves on the EDS Comorbidity Coalition.

Ms. Kukfa started her career as a paralegal and office manager for a law firm specializing in land use, health care and politics.   During this time, she also worked as a campaign manager for a New Jersey Assemblyman and Mayor who was a proponent of community mental health services and served on the Health and Senior Services Committee.  She assisted with legislative efforts on mental health, the elderly, and education.  Post New Jersey politics, Ms. Kukfa founded a paralegal service and River Edge Title Agency.

Kara holds a Bachelor of Science from St. John’s University.
