Lorna Ryan is a Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner registered with The British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). Trained at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London, Lorna works within a functional medicine model in private practice based in London, UK. She is accredited by the professional standards authority.
Lorna has a special interest in gastrointestinal health and energy regulation relating to hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS) and supporting the health of hypermobile dancers.
Lorna applies an evidence based approach, examining the whole person and system imbalances. In providing personalized, measurable, and sustainable management plans, she aims to optimize client’s health and quality of life. Lorna advocates a whole food approach, uses supplementation where essential, and underpins clinical analysis with function testing when appropriate.
Dedicated to an integrative healthcare approach and committed to multidisciplinary clinical research, Lorna welcomes the opportunity to work with fellow professionals. She is a member of the EDS ECHO program, & focuses CPD training in this field. Lorna is the chair of the Diet and Nutrition Working Group in the EDS International Consortium.
Outside clinical practice Lorna contributes to editorials and delivers educational talks. Lorna’s special interests come from a personal experience living with and managing hEDS, an experience she draws on to offer a compassionate and motivating approach to all clients.
