EDS ECHO Paediatrics is a free program for Healthcare Professionals worldwide, across all disciplines who want to improve their ability to care for children and younger people with EDS, HSD, and associated symptoms and conditions. We run two programs, one is based in Toronto, Canada, and the other in Sydney, Australia.

The programs consist of expert presentations and case-based interactive sessions delivered virtually via the Zoom platform. They are led by Dr. Sarah Schwartz and Constance O’Connor (North America program) and Dr. Louise Tofts (Australia program).

Dr. Schwartz is a paediatrician at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and an assistant professor at the University of Toronto. She was involved in the development and implementation of the first paediatric EDS clinic in Canada, which was launched in 2017.

Constance (Connie) O’Connor is a Paediatric Nurse Practitioner working with the EDS Program in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Connie’s practice focuses on providing comprehensive patient and family care, program planning and implementation, and the development of educational resources for patients/families and healthcare providers.

Dr. Tofts is an accredited rehabilitation physician and paediatrician holding Australian fellowships in both specialties and a Masters in Sports Medicine from The University of New South Wales. Dr. Tofts practices at Kids Rehab the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Narrabeen Sports Medicine Centre, and Delmar Private Hospital.

Participants who are accepted into the program are asked to attend as much of the program as possible to get the most out of their place, and to submit at least one case study during the program.

All participants are encouraged to share their cases and questions in the sessions and are guided to further educational materials and support. CME/CEU/CE credits or a certificate of attendance are available to health care professionals at no charge to participants. Credits are awarded at 1 per 60 minutes of live session activity.
