Dr. Bascom is Professor of Medicine and Public Health Sciences, active staff at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Division of Pulmonary Allergy and Critical Care.  She trained at the Johns Hopkins Hospital/School of Public Health in internal medicine, pulmonary/critical care, preventive/occupational medicine/inhalation toxicology. She is a founding member of the EDS Co-Morbidity Coalition (now the Community Coalition).  In 2018, together with Jane Schubart and Susan Mills, she co-founded Penn State’s monthly EDS Patient Research Advisory Group and the PCORI-funded ECHO-based STRETCH Project to increase multi-site research capacity. She currently facilitates Penn State’s monthly EDS Clinician Interest Group, focused on building interdisciplinary clinical capacity among practitioners in Central Pennsylvania.
