Austin makes me proud every day

I am very proud of my son Austin, who loves playing Division 3 College Lacrosse.

He was advised this month that he needs shoulder surgery, which confirmed our suspicion that he played an entire season of D3 College Lacrosse this last school year with a torn shoulder. This was alongside him finishing the year playing an entire game with a dislocating wrist. After the game was over, I knew he was struggling so I met him half way. I’m only 5’8 and he’s a solid 6’2, 210 lbs. He hugged me, squeezing my shirt so tight, and he was full blown crying on my shoulder because the pain was unbearable. I had to help him limp off the field. I know he battles EDS every day and he inspires me.

I was advised myself recently that I need another lumbar surgery. That would bring me to more than 20 total surgeries.

My son Austin is the inspiration for the slogan I recently had trademarked, “All Grit, No Quit!” Austin was able to earn “All Atlantic East All Academic Team” During His Time Attending Centenary University.

I want to tell the EDS and HSD community to never, never give up on the fight. I wish everyone in the community incredible, pain free days. – Jeff @coachdomenic
