Metro DC Metropolitan Area EDS/HSDs Support Group

Our support group serves the DC metropolitan area, but all EDS/HSDs and associated co-morbid conditions people, family, friends, and caregivers in any location are welcomed at our support group meetings. Our goal is to encourage sharing and support among members, their families, friends, and caregivers, while learning more about EDS/HSDs and associated conditions. Our meetings today generally have a minimum participation of 30-50 people depending on the speaker.

We hold quarterly meetings in March, June, September, and December with speakers we select and the type of speakers our members request at any given time who may be of benefit to them. Any extra time at we dedicate to group discussion.

We also support group members in DC, Northern VA, and Suburban Maryland between meetings where possible who need help with accompanying them to doctor appointments, helping with paperwork, helping find doctors/practitioners/providers they request that others have recommended in the community, etc. We encourage and request members to work closely with their doctors/practitioners/providers where necessary. We have a couple of volunteers when asked who are willing to help us with future meetings and group events in the metropolitan DC area which we are happy to participate.

Our Facebook group is https://www.facebook.com/metro.dc.eds/ and for more info see www.eds-dc.org.
