During the last eight years Susan has worked closely with EDS experts, medical scientists and EDS patients in both clinical care and research settings. Her special interests include patient-centered research initiatives and helping physicians build effective communication networks to provide the best care possible for EDS patients. As a voluteer for The Ehlers-Danlos Society, she is a member of the team that responds to the HelpLine.
Susan is a British military trained Registered Nurse. As a Royal Air Force Flight Officer she specialized in worldwide evacuation of sick and injured military personnel. She has a bachelor’s degree with majors in psychology and organizational behavior. She has a Master of Health Planning degree from the School of Public Health at the University of New South Wales. Her education in the United States has included advanced health care management studies at Yale University and, as a WKKellogg Foundation Fellow, the Doctoral Program in Health Services Organization and Policy, School of Public Health, University of Michigan.
