Are you near Central London on November 29? EDS awareness is coming!
Aurora and Suzette are a music duo known as TEM-PLE, who “believe that music has the power to bring awareness to underrepresented issues and inspire people to think about things differently.”
Aurora also has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), and TEM-PLE has curated an incredible awareness and music campaign for EDS and the community. On Wednesday, November 29, at 6:30 pm, TEM-PLE will show a five-minute screening of their new Christmas awareness single on the screens at the iconic Picadilly Circus, whilst the incredible Keynotes Gospel choir featured on the single will perform close to the Eros Fountain. Projection mapping will be shown on the buildings where the screens are for an immersive and incredible moment for EDS awareness.
“We wanted to do something to help raise awareness for all those struggling with EDS who fly under the radar because their condition is misunderstood or, in many cases, misdiagnosed. With that in mind, we set about writing/producing a Christmas song that lyrically didn’t focus on the condition itself but deliberately had mass appeal in the hope of targeting a wider audience,” said Aurora.
“I struggled for years to get a diagnosis and am shocked at the lack of awareness and treatment available for ‘us Zebras’ from UK health providers. This needs to change, and we want to be part of the solution to achieve this. Music is a fantastic way of conveying any message or highlighting a cause. We strongly believe we have the perfect song to capture the hearts of the general public this Christmas time. We have also secured the largest billboard in the UK to display the Christmas single cover for the launch.”
President and CEO of The Ehlers-Danlos Society, Lara Bloom, will be there and would love to meet with other community members who live close by and can travel to watch the screening. Lara will be meeting others by the Eros Fountain at 6:00 pm. We hope to see you there!
