Traverse City teen battles chronic disorders

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY (WPBN/WGTU) — When you meet Maddie Riling, she seems like every other 16 year old girl. She said she’s constantly on Pintrest, Facebook and other social media.

What people don’t see is that she’s constantly fighting a battle against her own body.

At an early age she was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Epilepsy, Mast Cell Activation Disorder and Congenital Fiber-Type Disproportion.

Which basically means her body is extremely fragile and she cant do everyday things, like go to school.

“Everyone, by the end of Christmas vacation, they’re always bored.” said Maddie. “And that’s how it is {for me} every single day.
