Ten Years of Impact. One Powerful Month to Go Further.
May is EDS and HSD Awareness Month, and every year, the global Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD) community joins together to raise awareness and move the progress forward.
But this year, it is more than just awareness. It is celebrating, storytelling, and taking action.
In 2026, we mark ten years of making a significant difference in the world, thanks to people like you. From lighting up landmarks to sharing your stories, walking and rolling in your communities, and raising critical dollars for research and treatment, you’ve made what’s possible a reality.
We invite you to join us in May to raise awareness and funds for a future in which diagnosis happens sooner, care is coordinated, and everyone is believed.
Together, we’ve changed lives. Let’s keep going.

May Awareness Fundraiser Spotlight
Throughout May, we’re featuring supporters who are raising funds and awareness for the EDS and HSD community through personal fundraising campaigns, events, and creative challenges.
Their efforts are helping drive research, education, advocacy, and support, while inspiring others to start fundraising too.

After spending nearly two decades searching for answers, London-based contemporary artist Milena Makani was finally diagnosed with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS). Living with chronic pain and EDS, her abstract work explores resilience, emotion, and the complexities of the human experience through deeply introspective visual storytelling. During May Awareness, Milena is donating 50% of profits to support The Ehlers-Danlos Society’s research, education, advocacy, and patient support initiatives, helping inspire others still searching for answers.
