About this Group
Rare Diseases Uganda (RDU) is a community-based, non-profit organization in the Teso region of western Uganda. The organization was created to provide support for the weakest social groups in the region in an effort to release them from economic and social poverty and enable them to live responsible and fulfilled lives while having good health and educational opportunities. RDU’s mission is to improve the livelihood of those living in the poorest communities through holistic training programs, economic empowerment and family support, sports and recreation programs, and fundamental human rights and advocacy. RDU collaborates and networks with local communities, governments, families, and other stakeholders in rural areas to provide holistic community services to communities in need.
