About these Clinics/Practices
As a chiropractor, we see an unusually high percentage of the population with underlying EDS, as it tends to cause joint/ musculoskeletal pain. It is not uncommon that EDS is an unrecognized cause of joint and musculoskeletal pain, and I have commonly referred patients for diagnosis and co-treatment with medical practitioners.
My approach to treating patients with EDS or suspected EDS is conservative management focusing on reducing scar tissue and myofacial pain, with minimal emphasis on adjusting techniques. Co-treatment and referral to medical doctors that perform prolotherapy and PRP is typical for those with a more severe phenotype. Patients with EDS that respond best to this care are those with classic type and hypermobile type. Vascular EDS is not usually a good candidate for myofascial work in my office.
