Katie Cleary is a Titled Paediatric Physiotherapist and Director of Ocean Kids Health – A private allied health service supporting Victorian babies and children. With lived experience of HSD, Katie’s passion and understanding of hypermobility began following her diagnosis at age 25, then treating young dancers and athletes at Dance Medicine Australia in 2011. Over the past 15 years in both public and private sectors, Katie has provided specialized Physiotherapy services and group programs to support families, babies, children and adolescents living with EDS & HSD.
Katie is committed to reducing the timeframe to diagnosis and improving the quality of life for children living with hypermobility and associated conditions. Katie strongly advocates for our hypermobile community, by regularly providing education to medical and allied health services to raise awareness and promote best outcomes for our children, including presenting the Paediatric Hypermobility Lecture for the Australian Physiotherapy Association. Katie is a member of the Paediatric Working Group with the International Consortium on Ehlers Danlos Syndromes.
