2022 Global Learning Conference

2022 Global Learning Conference Arizona

August 4-6, 2022

We are delighted to welcome you to register for our 2022 Global Learning Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona! We will be hosting this exciting hybrid event, both in-person and virtually.

Join individuals and families with EDS and HSD for three days of learning, collaboration, and networking. The conference theme is “EDS and HSD Through a Lifetime” and will feature presentations, case studies, and panel discussions led by experts on the Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD). The event is suitable for community members and their friends and families, as well as healthcare professionals who are interested in learning from a lay perspective.

The in-person conference will be held at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa, 5402 E Lincoln Dr, Scottsdale, AZ 85253, United States. Full event information and FAQs can be found here, including information on tickets, registration, COVID-19 precautions, accommodation, and travel. For those unable to travel to join us in person, we will be offering a comprehensive virtual experience with access to our event app, Whova.

Our Junior Zebras program, held concurrently with the main program schedule, will allow our younger attendees aged 6-17 the chance to make friends as they learn more about their condition in a fun and age-appropriate environment.

Healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, are welcome to join sessions during the three-day period, to learn more about EDS and HSD and how to improve the management and care for their patients.

Silver Ring Splint Company

In 1974, occupational therapist Cynthia Garris was forced to take a new look at splint therapy – in that year, she was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. She had long believed in the value of splinting, but soon realized that none of the existing technologies addressed the long-term use of splints. While plastic splints were adequate for treating short-term trauma, they were not an ideal solution for lifetime wear. In 1985, she set out to design and manufacture a new series of splints that were both more effective and more attractive than the splints then in use. In the process, she revolutionized splint therapy.

Wearing SilverRing™ Splints removes the stigma of splinting and increases patient compliance. Patients experience positive reactions from others which improves their perspective on treatment.

Whether they need finger stability for hand-intensive work or for everyday tasks like cooking and holding a pencil, thousands of people have made SilverRing™ Splints a valued part of their everyday lives. SilverRing™ Splints encourage complete patient well-being, medically effective hand therapy and a positive self-image.
