What are the benefits of becoming a Center or Network?
The CORE Network of Excellence Program offers a variety of benefits to participating clinics, including:
- International recognition of expertise in EDS/HSD
- Mentoring and programmatic support
- Opportunities for multi-site collaborative research
- Access to the latest educational material for patients
- Networking and referral pathways
- EDS ECHO programming designed exclusively for the CORE Network of Excellence
How does the CORE Network benefits patients & caregivers?
Patients and caregivers benefit from better trained providers, increased access to EDS and HSD specialists, and standardized approaches to diagnosis and management. The program also supports advocacy for systemic healthcare improvements globally.
What are the criteria to join?

Who can apply?
Groups of practitioners/healthcare professionals who meet the criteria are welcome to apply.
Can I nominate a practitioner or clinic?
No, applications must come from one of the participating prospective members. If you know of a practitioner or clinic who you believe would be a good fit for the program, we encourage you to reach out to them directly to share your support and direct them to the application information.

Applications should be submitted in English where possible, but will be accepted in any language.

Are there geographic restrictions to applications?
No, applications are accepted from anywhere in the world, provided that they meet the criteria.
Is a CNE designation the same as other national designations for EDS?
Each CORE member must meet specific criteria and undergo a thorough review before receiving the designation. Our criteria are designed to be inclusive and promote equitable care around the world. They do not replace or replicate any similar programs run by regional, national, or governmental bodies.

Who reviews applications?
All applications that meet the criteria are reviewed carefully by a committee of experts in EDS and HSD, comorbidities, and community members.
When will I hear about my application?
All applicants will receive confirmation of their application submission. After the application cycle closes, the committee will review and reach a decision.
Does the Society provide information about wait times at CORE Network sites?
The Ehlers-Danlos Society does not have information on current wait times for appointments at CORE Network centers. We advise contacting the clinics or healthcare professionals directly for the most accurate and up-to-date details on availability and scheduling.
Can I provide feedback on care received from a CORE Network site?
Yes, feedback about your experience should be directed to the clinic or practice itself, as they are responsible for managing patient-related concerns.
